Setting the dishes to dry
Sitting down at the table
This iteration of the lamp features a larger selection of forms, in addition to a set of thrown and glazed pieces, and a white stoneware base. Sitting down at the table is a companion piece to Setting the dishes to dry.
Here, I wanted to ask what it would be like to illuminate the objects we regularly place on the surface of a table. What would it look like if we could see through the bottom of our food bowls, or through the pages of a book? How might this change in lighting affect our perspectives on these commonplace objects and related actions?
Setting the dishes to dry: Polished porcelain, glazed white stoneware, and LED bulb.
Sitting down at the table: Tape-cast porcelain, glass panel, maple wood, and LED light fixture.
