Setting the dishes to dry
Sitting down at the table

Setting the dishes to dry is an expansion and refinement of the prototype iteration, Porcelain Stacking Lamp

This iteration of the lamp features a larger selection of forms, in addition to a set of thrown and glazed pieces, and a white stoneware base.
Sitting down at the table is a companion piece to Setting the dishes to dry

Here, I wanted to ask what it would be like to illuminate the objects we regularly place on the surface of a table. What would it look like if we could see through the bottom of our food bowls, or through the pages of a book? How might this change in lighting affect our perspectives on these commonplace objects and related actions?

Setting the dishes to dry: Polished porcelain, glazed white stoneware, and LED bulb.

Sitting down at the table: Tape-cast porcelain, glass panel, maple wood, and LED light fixture.
